**Salary:** 

- Grade 7: £36,024 – £44,263 per annum

- A less experienced candidate may be appointed at Grade 6 (£32,332 - £38,205 per annum), with a commensurate adjustment in either the essential criteria, responsibilities, or duties

**Job Description:**


The Environmental Change Institute (ECI) within the School of Geography and the Environment (SoGE) at the University of Oxford is seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate to join the Resilience and Development Group. This position focuses on Nature Finance, specifically in the areas of data and analytics.


**Key Responsibilities:**


- Conduct high-quality research in nature finance, utilizing data and analytics to inform resilience and development strategies.

- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to nature-based financial instruments and investments.

- Collaborate with academic colleagues, industry partners, and stakeholders to enhance research outcomes and impact.

- Prepare and disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and reports.

- Contribute to the development and submission of research proposals and funding applications.

- Supervise and mentor junior researchers and graduate students.

- Participate actively in the academic life of the Environmental Change Institute and the wider School of Geography and the Environment.


**Qualifications and Experience:**


- A Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field such as environmental science, geography, economics, finance, or data science.

- Proven expertise in data analytics, including experience with relevant software and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL).

- A strong track record of research publications in high-impact journals.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

- Commitment to addressing global environmental challenges through innovative research and solutions.
